Hello everyone,

After reading about the K&N Typhoon Cold Air Intake System I decided to go with this modification.
I got the kit off Ebay for £171, it came in the polished silver colour, looking very nice, on the box it said it was for a Acura TSX 2004 - 20078, part number 69-0025.

The installation was straight forward, good instructions, apart from the fact that instructions show an air vent cover in the front bumper, but my Type S is slightly different in that it has fog lights integrated with this vent, so it doesn't clip off, this makes it a bit tricky to undo the back bolt holding the original resonator unit. I had to undo the screw holding the front bumper on this side and pull it just enough (as it is quite flexible) to get my hand in to undo this). Time for installation took about 1 and a half hours.

Under normal driving it sounds like a stock intake, but if you put your foot down, you hear this magnificent roar when the v-tech engages, which is pretty loud inside the car, not heard it from outside so don't know what pedestrians or other car users hear when you boot it.

Just one thing which isn't clear on the instructions is that the EVAP vent hose on my 2006 has a lower larger outlet and a small outlet above it, both these fit into the stock intake tube, but on the Typhoon, there is only a single connection point for the larger lower EVAP vent hose outlet, and the small outlet is left unconnected, is it ok to leave it like this or do I need to do anything with the smaller outlet?

Also, does this have any effect on fuel economy?

Thanks

Zahir, can you take a pic of the part you mean?

These kits are pretty good aren't they? seems like a lot of money until you fit it and hear the roar :D

Your MPG will drop compared to standard filter as youll be bleeping the throttle just to listen to the new sound ;) But driving normally there shouldn't be much in it really.

Yep iv heard saby's car Faddys brother and it sounds great ;)

Not sure how to upload photos, but here goes.

The first photo shows the typhoon in place and the second one shows the extra EVAP outlet that fits the stock air intake tube but nowhere to fit on the Typhoon.

I'm out of the country for a few days but soon as I'm back mid week I'll check against my brothers car to see what we did as I can't recall off hand

Just an update to say I've now been driving the car for about 2 weeks with the EVAP smaller outlet left unconnected, so far so good. I've probably down around 600 miles motorway and town driving since fitting the typhoon. Yep it does wanna make you floor it just to hear the sound. You can't notice it at normal driving speeds. Nice piece of kit.

vtec will sound wild, so be careful what speeds to end up doin now!
