Hi All,

I've tried searching around and haven't found a definite answer.

Can anyone confirm if the CL7 Euro R shares the disc and pads as the CL9 type-s? (90% sure it does)

I'm looking to do a complete brake refresh on my CL7.

Thanks

Having done a lot of research into brakes on my CL9 I believe the diesel and 2.4 use the same 300mm disc and single pot caliper as the Euro R yes.

I had a problem with constantly warped discs on my CL9 diesel and read that it was a common issue on the Euro R aswell.

To fix this is bought some Accord Type R twin pot calipers and discs which are 2mm thicker and the calipers obviously have more Pistons. This was an instant upgrade and a straight bolt on solution, the brakes were much much better and after very hard intentional braking and 5k+ miles they are still fine.

If I was having issues like this on a relatively stock diesel I'm sure you should consider this upgrade on a 220hp car.

We've swapped the front calipers on our EuroR to the twin pots from a 6th gen Type R. To look at it, the stock caliper on the EuroR does look the same as a diesel, but i've read somewhere (a fairly reliable source) that the EuroR caliper piston is larger. However i haven't put them side by side with a diesel or CL9 to verify this for sure.

Disc and pad size are the same though yes.

At the next brake swap i'm just going to fit them to the wife's FRV anyway ;)

Thanks for the replies guys!

So seeing as im going to be replacing disc and pads all round, it seems like its worth doing the Accord Type R callipers as well then. Just to clarify, use the the ATR caliper and disc are straight bolt on right?

ATR caliper is straight bolt on but you need to swap the carriers too. Pad size is obviously different but disc is same 300mm.

I believe there's a slight difference in thickness but it's nothing of any consequence

^^ there you go the fountain of all knowledge

Thanks for the information guys, very useful!

One more question.... (saves me having to go and measure them on the car lol). Does the CL7 share the same size disc/pads on the rear as the CL9?
