Hi guys, I have a hairline cracked manifold, pretty sure it's been cracked for a while. Is there any lasting damage that this could/ will do to the engine/ turbo... or can you continue to drive it sounding like a tractor as long as you keep fresh air in the car?

It's going to be fixed, but I've a few long drives coming up and may need to find alternatives.

Any insights much appreciated.

There's no immediate risk apart from to your own and passengers health.

However longer term there is risk in weakening the turbo and generally creating a lot of accumulated soot in the system as the car will be over fuelling right now due to the readings coming back from the lambda

Thanks Fahad, what's you definition of longer term.. weeks or many months?
Funny you mention over fuelling cos I've noticed what appears to be the opposite on the mpg readout which has shot up to 48mpg recently... could be playing up too i suppose.

I doubt the economy is improving lol

We still talking cars right ;)

Lmao
