Hi Guys,
My fuel light came on today so will be filling up on the way home from work, but I wondered, how far do you guys run in to the red. I'm mainly posing this to the 2.4 guys. Obviously, the fuel light probably means nothing to the diesel guys as they'll soldier on on fumes alone for 200 miles  .
But seriously, I find the fuel gauge far from linear. I used to have a 2.0 golf diesel which was even as you like. You always knew what to expect. Quarter of a tank was quarter of a tank. The Accord is far from this. I'll fill up and drive 70 miles before the gauge moves. Then I'll do between 250 and 275 for the half way mark. But then it just drops away from me and I'm questioning whether I'll make 400 (I nearly always do ). But it's like fuel tank gets narrower as it gets near the bottom.
So I've never had to confidence to drive much with the fuel light on, as the second half of the tank almost empties itself logarithmically if you know what I mean. I'm scared of it "putt-putting" out of fuel in the middle the road.
So how many sensibly driven miles do you reckon you can get after the fuel light comes on and before you hit rock bottom of the tank?
