I-dtec noise

Reaching out to all you 'dirty' diesel owners.

How do your engines sound? My accord has only done 39,000 miles and has been regularly serviced.

However I think it does sound quite rough on start up and lower rev accelerating. Is it just mine or is this just the I-Dtec noise?

That's how they sound. The Ictdi was definitely a quieter and smoother engine.

Blame all the euro 5 regs

Check your oil level, but generally that's how diesels are espec. from cold.

Mines really quite. I've got 0w30 castrol Edge in it now and it still seems quieter than the old oil Honda used.

I've noticed no increase in noise with the cold weather yet either so may be treat your car to some decent oil first?

I might treat her actually.

The car was bought from a Ford franchise (Evans Halshaw) and was serviced before i picked her up. I have a feeling they might have just used any old crappy oil.

Worth an enjoy flush beforehand? Also, how many litres of oil does the 2.2 i-dtec hold?
