Car started to make intermittant knocking noise.thought it was rear brakes at first because when car in for service the garage set the hand brake to hard so took back for adjustment. Now the car makes a knocking sound from what i think is the front end ,the noise only happens when i press the brake peddle but only every now and then.ive tried pressing the brake slow and hard it is very random.Sometimes i dont hear the noise at all when braking from a long distance and then while driving round town it clunks a lot when on off the brakesThe only time i can guarantee the noise is first thing in the morning when the hand brake has been on and i'm reversing out of the drive.Anyone got any ideas?.

Were the pads replaced, and did they use genuine Honda pads? Sometimes aftermarket pads which aren't a perfect shape will move around in the caliper and cause this. But really you need it diagnosing by the garage, it could be anything including loose caliper bolts (happened to me once)

Anti roll bar drop links and/or bushes are very common.

Also, tomorrow my garage is replacing my lower front suspension bushes as they're split and my front end is knocking very badly. The split bushes in question are also quite badly affecting the steering. How's your steering? Does it badly tramline and/or pull either direction under braking?
