What a great start to the week! First of all on Saturday my turbo gave up on the Accord, then this morning, while trying to find a decent garage to replace it, I bumped my company Astra on the kerb and picked the only part that had been damaged and ripped a great big hole in the sidewall!
However, as they say 'All's well that ends well' and the tyre place I went to get the company Astra tyre replaced were £10 P/H cheaper than where I'd just booked and could crack on this afternoon with the Accord
. So, off I flew on a 110 mile round trip to pick up a replacement turbo that I hope is ok!
What have I learnt from this? Firstly, if your turbo is whistling all the time under load, it's gonna go pop very soon and, secondly, the new Astra with energy saving tyres is one of the worst cars ever manufactured!
I should be thoroughly P'd off but thats life I guess! I paid £800 for my Accord Type R and it had nothing wrong with it in the 6 months I've owned it. I buy myself a newer 54 plate Accord and the turbo has popped, the fuel filter needed replacing and the drivers side inner CV joint has play in it causing the, infamous, 60-80mph steering wheel wobble... I still love driving it though and I hope to 'insert whatever you believe in' that it's all sorted tomorrow.
Also, my apologies to F6HAD. This is the second time I've messed you around cancelling a remap!
