Just took me near 4 hours to get home from work on what should have been a 30 minute journey. Had to swerve to avoid a flump in the middle of the road on a bendy country lane. There just so happened to be some curb stones on this patch of road. Wheel clipped it, instant blow-out. Do I have a spare tyre, maybe a space saver in the boot? No  ! Oh, but I do have a can of inflating foam stuff, maybe that will plug the 2 inch hole in the side wall of my tyre <_< .

Anyway, had almost no network coverage, when I get through to RAC they tell me my membership's expired, which it hadn't. I get membership through my insurer. So I have to phone my insurance, I keep getting bounced between insurance and RAC, the whole time my phone keeps cutting out because of bad reception. It took an hour to finally get confirmation that a truck was on its way. 45 minutes for the truck to turn up, then get towed and left on a garage forecourt to get sorted in the morning, then he dropped me home which was nice. Left work at 4.30, got home (a total distance of 8 miles away) at 8.30.

The moral of the story: Don't be without a spare wheel. I know what I'm asking Santa for this Christmas.

Gutted dude -this has been on my list of things to sort since i bought the car...over 2 years ago.

Even though I have two spare alloys

First thing I bought when I got the car was a full size used spare wheel & good tyre off eBay I do a lot of miles a year and would rather have it and not need than need it and not have it

First thing I did when I got the car, throw out the carp inflation gear, and get a spare in the well, that little pump and the bottle will in no way in the world fix a blow out!! Cannot think what Honda were thinking about.

I had exactly the same experience for not having a spare wheel at the back of the car...and that was my first of buying the car from car craft, while on the way back home, got punctured on one of the front tyre I tell you what, I was real angry because I paid full cash to got this car and the first drive is already cost me money to repair.. ! Well eventually got myself a space saver from Honda, can't live without it, must have to every Honda...

Gutted for ya. It's one thing to get the blow out, but to then have the hassle of an argument about your breakdown membership is just adding insult to injury.

Them cans are a stupid idea. If I have the misfortune to get a car with one it will be straight out and a proper spare put in it's place.

Plus I didn't realise until recently that if you use a can of foam to plug a puncture it completely ruins the tyre so repairing it is out the question. :(
