oil drain plug

Hello,

Can anyone tell me what socket or key I will need to remove oil drain plug cheers

From memory I'm sure it's a 17mm socket but someone will confirm.
Also check the DIY guilds it will be in there.

Off the top of my head I'm pretty sure it's 17mm.

But you could always buy a whole set of sockets, just in case!

Yup, 17mm on the diesel too.
I've just measured it.
I've not been grovelling under the car in the dark: having swapped mine for a magnetic plug, the original in a drawer in the garage

What did you go for? The Halfords stuff is alright in my opinion.

Indeed, for a quality versus price, I think Halfords is actually ok.

I have a 2.2 2005. 17mm. Just bought a new one from honda. I don't think my old one has another service in it. 5€ all in.

Any one knows the torque settings for the plug? i always over tighten it and hence the washer get pressed and stuck to plug resulting an effort to remove it on service...

Hand tight then use the spanner until you feel the washer flatten. That's it don't over tighten it or the sump will crack.

The oil sump nut should be 44nm .
