Possible socket in resonator box - problem?

While changing air filter I've dropped a small 8mm socket through the small hole in resonator box plastic cover. There is a chance it has gone into the resonator as I've had a good look around the area but can't see it.

Is this a huge problem? Not sure how is the resonator laid out inside so not sure if the socket can make its way to the air filter and make a hole in it?

Thought about taking the resonator out to shake it out, so remove the battery, but can't get rid of the metal plate that sits under the battery compartment. 2 size 14 bolts on the right are sitting very tight.

Should I keep tryin to get it out or just forget about it? If it has fallen down I reckon it will just drop out while driving and shouldn't pose any danger as no moving parts on that side of engine ... right?

It's a petrol right? If so, you need to take the bumper off to get the resonator out. Bumper off is super easy to do actually. There are a couple of bolts/screws on the under side of the car/wheel arches, a load of plastic clip things to pop out under the car and around the grill, and then some gentle persuasion will see it off. Then the resonator will just basically pull out. Then leave it out and just run some flexible piping from your air box to the cavity left behind by the resonator and enjoy the noise .

Try and get a magnetic pickup tool down the hole.

I dropped a 10mm socket down my satellite dish riser pole with a 90° bend in it and retrieved it with a small thin-ish pickup tool, from this Pick Set here

Dropping anything in your engine bay is never smart dude.. I agree, fish it out

Spend the time and fish it out, better than a bolt going through the turbo

If it don't work as Jav said its a bumper off to get to the bolts holding the resonator
