I am interested in understanding what is coded on new injectors, to increase my knowledge.
Does the 7th gen have a canbus system and therefore you need to create an identity for the replaced part, or does a new injector need to be paired in some manner with the existing ECU, if so for what purpose?
I think that I read either on this forum or perhaps the old AOC that the high pressure fuel pump operates on a non variable (constant) pressure basis and that fueling changes are controlled via the ECU, eg injector timing and dwell (how long injectors put fuel in the engine).
If that is correct does the injector just operate as an ECU slave, therefore as long as it receives a electrical signal/pulse it will operate?
Sorry if the questions are a little dumb as I struggle to understand the latest electronic technology
