What's new

Was this a good buy?

Re the fuel filter - I decided to renew the fuel filter on my Series 7 Tourer and bought the genuine Honda p/n 16010-SED-003 to do the job. Access is a bit fiddly and you need very thin fingers to remove and replace the filter, so I asked my local garage to do it for me. The mechanic's reply was - "They are bloody tricky. I'd leave it until it starts to play up." Now I have a genuine fuel strainer waiting - I just hope it's not needed!

How much did it cost for the wheel arch to be done, and yeah I do all the servicing and mechanical bits my self with my dad.
Hello Rob - apologies for the very late reply. A local garage welded in a replacement rear arch sill for £100, and then it was sprayed etc. by another garage and that cost a further £250. So £350 in total and it looks a good deal better.

Okay cool that's not horrific amount, might get a professional to do the welding as I've only ever welded sills and chassis on my cars so doesn't need to be to 100% perfection but I'll do the painting myself as done a bit of that that's turned out well

Lovely looking motor, I've an old 2004 pre facelift on 230,000 and she still purrs. Wonderful engines.
I only use 0,30 fully synth twice year, fuel filter learn to do yourself as it's quite easy but there's a tricky bolt round back, you just need a Flexi long screwdriver and bit of patience.
The ball joint lift wheel up and see if there's any play and have a good look at nut and thread as I had one strip off while driving.
I think this was the hardest job I attempted because the ball joint is pressed in but I managed to change them, with a big c clamp. Ball joints were cheap but took me a few hours.

I also have bit of rust on arches, as my car's not worth anything I just remove rust best I can, kurust, fill them, quick sand prime and tin of Halfords paint and they look pretty decent. I guess depends on how picky you are.
