Hi All,
I recently picked up a 2005 diesel with 100k miles. It had no service history and I dont know whether it was ever changed. I always ***umed that I might need to change the clutch and that is ok with me and now I have an opportunity to do that (I will be driving abroad where my brother has a garage and I could have it done for free, so would only need to buy the parts which are 600GBP??).
Currently I can drive no problem and there is no clutch slip or anything like that. But when releasing the clutch pedal the 'grip' is weak at first. When the clutch pedal is released half-way or a little over it, the grip is quite sudden. If I am not careful I can certainly feel that feeling when one shifts a gear and releases the clutch very quickly
(don't know how to call it - sorry). Would you say that this is a sign of a failing clutch? Should I be changing the clutch or also the dual mass flywheel? Any recommendations to what clutch to get? I would be ordering it on ebay so any advice is welcome.
Thanks in advance.
