Have you tried this yet ?

That's said, you have to do step 1 (jump pins) then use the brake pedal to erase the abs code first then perform the vsa reset. You'll know when the abs has been removed as the light will flash then disappear.
You may have to do the vsa a couple of times, resetting the ignition each time as the timing has to be spot on.
When successful the vsa light will blink then disappear hopefully for good. Or at least until the next abs sensor goes!
Once you've done it you'll kick yourself as it really is quite quick and easy, it's all in the timing of the button presses
I think that was the method I tried when I first fitted the sensor to the loom, then gave up until I had a bit more time (and the MOT beckoning).

I find the ABS light flickers three times, not twice and stays on afterwards.

Then of course there is the VSA switch itself which feels as though there is nothing electrical behind it.

Hi Freddofrog... I am going to try, I will keep you all updated as I go along.

I just read the comments on the thread for the TSX site, really good thread... Ill see how it goes.

Thanks again for all the support everyone.
:)

^ good stuff, hope it works

Apart from the OP, in future it's going to get very difficult to start finding anything to do with VSA issues on TA now .....on House Keeping the janitors would be out sorting things out

Just a thought. is there not a copy of a manual for all these codes and bridging, I mean all this info must come from somewhere....

I uploaded it this morning, see post #19 in this thread http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/19286-haynes-us-accord-workshop-manuals/?p=242896 and the link is in #21 http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/19286-haynes-us-accord-workshop-manuals/?p=242960

But I don't think that the "brake pedal" thing is in that manual, the "brake pedal" thing is probably a "back door" method

Ok a big post and blatant plagiarism but this is the full monty starting with the ABS reset

1) Jump pins 4 and 9. (I removed obd socket by squeezing the bottom of the plug to remove it from its metal bracket, turned the obd connector around and put a paperclip in the 4th pin (black wire) and the 9th at the bottom (brown wire) )
2) Press and hold the brake pedal and switch on the ignition.
3) Wait for the ABS light to turn off and then remove your foot from the brake pedal.
4) Wait for the ABS light to turn on, then press and hold the brake pedal again.
5) ABS light should turn off, then remove your foot from the brake pedal.
6) Wait for two flashes of ABS light. If it flashes it means that errors are erased.

Check the errors (with the pins jumped) - just turn the ignition on, if ABS light does not flash, no errors are in memory.

If your vsa indictor light (triangle with exclamation point is on) and after you drive a distance the icon that reads "VSA" illuminates, try this:

VSA neutral position setting

Do not touch the brake pedal anymore.

1) Jump pin 9 (brown wire) to chassis ground (I have used a bolt on a door hinge, some people say they just left pins 4 & 9 jumped and it worked, I used a paperclip and wire to make it reach the door bolt).
2) Turn the ignition on, after ABS light turns off, quickly press the "VSA off" button.
3) After ABS light turns on again, quickly press the "VSA off" button.
4) Now shoud be a lot of different blinks and fashes and all lights ABS, VSA and triangle should turn off. The problem's solved.

You may have to try a few attempts, think I got it the third time round

Just to add to this thread a recent experience

Type s2.4 ABS sensor issue on offside rear. New sensor fitted and abs light out. Then on driving away from garage the Yellow triangle was on swiftly followed by the vsa light.
Followed the advice vsa neutral setting, bridging pins 4 and 9 rather than 9 and ground on door hinge. Cleared the fault at first attempt

Many thanks everyone who contributed

Hi mate, could you be able to tell me how to do, got them same problem, my vsa, and abs light come on...cheers

For a tenner - so a bit more than a paperclip - you can get an OBD2 reader from eBay. I bought one similar to this (Cafu ?)

Reads codes and then allows you to clear down the memory in a few seconds.

These typically only retrieve engine ecu data. This thread relates to the VSA module I believe. Good shout though.

Ah yes, I had ABS issues around the time I purchased mine, but really can't recall if I got round to using it for checks/resets.

It has however been invaluable since then when I had limp mode/TPS errors and could clear the codes whilst driving with the ipod on the passenger seat .

Will check if I kept any of the data.

I use a foxwell NT630 code reader which reads ABS sensor faults on our cars aswell as OBD engine codes
Very handy bit of kit.
It has saved me so much hassle on numerous occasions. Well worth the investment.

Can you rewite that sentence ?

I changed two sensors when I first got the tourer, then the ABS/VRS pump around MOT time.

My abs light is now gone after a quick drive and never come back again. Which is good. But the VSA light is on all the time..

no, vsa button has no response when pressed... I’ve try to use the jump 4 and 9 pin again to reset the VSA.. otherwise, buy the foxwell code reader is quite a expensive invest for this car tho.. this car is quite reliable to me for those years. Lol..

You need to manage/eliminate the fault, which means getting under the bonnet or the wheel arches (or both).

The Foxwell is on sale for around £70 , though delivery dates could be awkward in the current climate. Since you can read codes from the dashboard it is not going to do much more

I remembered that The car had massive jump over the speed bump at night when I travel a bit over the speed, it stalled too. Then I’ve got the VSA light on and triangle light ever since...
the car hasn’t have any noise or any reaction affecting the way it perform when driving after that. ***uming VSA is the safety sensor once the suspension has moment it will triggered and sent code into ecu? Correct me I’m wrong.but I’ll check under car for anything unusual. But by trying to jump the 4 and 9 pin of the obd2 won’t work for resetting the light...may be the foxwell for £70 is next step not sure yet. Yeah the current matters I don’t work anymore. But I’m sure the courier people will carry on as usual.. but not sure after government announced tonight though:-(

Check at the front of the car where the damper mechanism is (In front of the radiators). You could find a contact has come out of the unit. Failing that the large connector at the front of the hydraulic module (right of the belts, a real sod to get your hands on though).

All photos were removed from the site a while ago.

I didn't need to take off the bumper to check the motor connections since I replaced the hydraulic unit with an eBay item (which has just one multipin connector with locking clamps and waterproof sleeve), I would guess it is a simple two way block with that plastic spring connector.

Taking the radiator cover off is a simple affair which might get you access.

I read the whole thread now, but without some pictures,I still don’t have any clue where to look into? The radiator cover is the top plastic cover with few clips rigjr? I really need to take the bumper off and taking some pictures for you show you could point me to right location, bumper off it’s very easy job,vsa plug I could check for continuity too.. I’ll catch up with you tomorrow.

The grill of the Accord is kept in place only from the top. Remove the plugs across the front and lift the plastic panel, then the grill can be taken out exposing the radiators and stuff below them.
