VSA Modulator Light

Sorry to hear that Phil - at least they contacted you pretty quick.

I got mine off fleabay - find the number of the module - quite difficult to read when it's in the car I found and the manufacturer - mine was ATE - plonk it into fleabay - or at least the first 5 digits - commonly 57110 and see what comes up.

If you do get one from a scrappy, make sure they allow returns in case it's faulty.

Failing that, you could either get BBA or ecutesting.com to repair or fork out a mortgage.

Thanks buddy - eBay first step, then scrap - is best bet to google local breaker? Not sure where to start. If you dont mind me asking what was eBay cost ?. Cheers

Try Breakeryeard.com
You put in your part requirement and the web site searches a number of breakers, who then email if they have the part and price.

Have used them previously for older cars and had good service

Phil - I'd try locally if you can as a first port of call - that's what I did - no success.

I got the part off ebay for £225 after a fair amount of negotiation with the seller - link

Any update Jerry? I'm still waiting on my part back from Reman.

Hi Rob, Sorry, been quiet for a while. My 'repaired' VSA/ABS pump is waiting for my 'tame mechanic' to find time to fit. Easter got in the way, then I couldn't spare the car! Can't remember if I said; the fault with mine was in the metal 'block' of tghe pump, not the black box on the side. Sorry to hear of your issues. Anyway, I'll report back when I do get it fitted. Cheers, Jerry

HI
Just had the the dreaded 66-1 fault code fixed, car 6yrs old in 1 month but mileage 66500.First quote £1895 from Gordon Lamb Chesterfield, after talking to service manager he put my case forward to HUK.
Recieved call following day from HUK and told they will reduce cost to £794 inc vat due to my Honda service history, i feel i've had a good result even though it's cost me that much money. When i picked up the car Friday i was offered 1 yr extended warranty for £275 which i finding very tempting?????.

Not a bad result bud... Is your manifold changed yet?

Mark - you got a quick reply from Honda on the matter - good job. Others, including myself, have had issues with them replying in writing to requests for ***istance.

Took them over 3 months to reply to my case, probably because I approached them myself rather than going through a dealer.

My car was also out of specification regards the extended warranty, but in the end, after a lot of perseverance, I got them to pay for the part - still waiting on getting it fitted.

Hi Moob
I think i got a quick responce due to MOT was due and i was told it would fail if not corrected, and the service manager was a great help.

HH mm that argument did work with my manifold... HUK CS can be a little random though.

Started up this morning and was greeted by three yellow VSA lights on the dash.

Read the code this evening 66 - 1

56 Plate Tourer with 39,000 miles with full Honda Service History, so hopeful that Honda will change this under their extended warranty.

Will let you know how I get on.

Its uncanny how accurate the information is you all provide, without which I would feel greatly disadvantaged especially in respect to my foreseen discussion tomorrow with Honda South Ruislip.

cj its a 56 plate.terry your well within warranty mate get it booked in.

Hi guys,

Took my car to Honda at Inverness yesterday for 50k service & to check rear brake binding (already had new calliper & hose fitted). My VSA light has been on since last service.

Anyways, called them in advance about the extended warranty as I fall into it, 6year old in Nov & only 54k but they told me it was nonsence!!!

Went yesterday to get service done & check this binding issue, they called me back into garage to sit me down.

66-1 it was plus other little faults but i was going to be looking at 3k+, at this stage my wallet started crying.

The mechanic went away to see if customer care could get me a discount of any kind. He came back 5mins later saying there was an 80% chance of getting the VSA module for free as it was an EXTENDED WARRANTY item and I have been a loyal Honda customer for 8years.

They gave us a courtesy car (nice wee Jazz) and told us they would call us back (yesterday at 4pm) so I'm hoping no news is good news & will need to call them as soon as they open.

Wish me luck...

Good luck buddy!

Good luck with it. Hope your dealer is up to it - mine is still messing me about with my warranty claim.

Good luck, being polite and telling them my last three car's were honda helped me with my claim.

Well done mate - seems your dealer is up to the job finally, after messing you around a bit.

Dunno what the issue is with the dealers, you'd think they'd know about extended warranties and the application of them. Mine is still in the garage since yesterday and I won't be getting it back until tomorrow as they said they had to send my part away to get it authorised - this despite my telling them it was already done 10 days before I booked the job in. Coupled with the fact the service staff lied to my wife last night saying the car was repaired and they were merely awaiting phone authority from Honda.

Are you dealing with hyndland, thats why I went upto Inverness. My FHSH helped, the mechanic said that was enough loyalty for him, never mind my last ATR with FHSH

Nah, Phoenix motor group - based in Linwood near Paisley - same group as Hyndland though, that's where I bought my car from.

Point I made on another thread regards FHSH - it's actually borderline if not completely illegal for them to have this as a requirement - due to legislation which allows you to have your car serviced elsewhere to maintain warranty as long as you use genuine/comparable parts. That said, I have bought two cars from this motor group totalling over 18k.

I really, really don't like people lying to me however.

How you get on with yours???

How you get on with yours???

Just got it back a couple of hours ago - heavier bill for labour than I was expecting - but just glad to finally have this resolved - it's been a long 4 months.

Had a word with the boss at the dealers, who apologised and offered to provide me with a small servicing freebie for the future - brake pads etc.

Very happy it's all fixed and no warning lights at last! :D

Hi Guys
Quick update to close thread.

Honda South Ruislip accepted my reading of the DTC 66 - 1 and ordered the VSA Pump, they have the service history at their branch.

The Service Manager picked up the car this morning (he lives locally) they replaced the unit and returned the car to me this evening with no charges applied.

Another example of good service from this dealership

£324.71 for a 50k service at the same time.

Top dealer! Make a complimentary call to the service manager saying you're more than happy with how you were looked after and you've shared your experience with the wider accord community. Its always nice to be nice.
