Apolgies terry , i hadnt realised one of the turrets on your filler cap had snapped , in that case one of these probably wont work as it wont bite on one side your probably right and going to have to butcher this one off

Was getting 650 mile from brim to empty , i dont take any notice of mpg trip computers as they can vary massively from car to car , only way to accurately figure it out is put a set amount of fuel in each fill up and reset your miles and work it out from there , your own driving style and speed...

Rear brakes binding ? Having said that i find book 0-60 times to be unrealistic too , i tried every car I've owned and some get nowhere near advertised times , and some do better lol
