Guys, My fuel tank has started to pull a vaccum when the engine is running & releases on opening the fuel cap...I,ve tried cleaning the cap & what looks like a 1 way valve on the top off the cap...appart from running with the cap loose I can,t find the problem...anyone had this before. I have a 2001 1.8S fitted with air conditioning...but have no climate control unit in the dash & the car is fitted with an after market radio...I know the origonal owner from new & he said, quote.."the airco never worked"...how do you set the incar temp. also anyone know off a good auto box...

Tin-man, It worked...removed the feed to the alarm horn...ran a cable from the battery neg. to the door switch, installed fuse 52...alarm flashers went on ...touched the blue wire on the door switch... flashers stopped...everything now works...dash lights, radio, cig. lighter, intierior lights...

This is what mine does as well....was worse when we had the cold weather...I,ve since noticed that it,s on the rough up-change when my MIL & D4 lights come on... the car goes into limp mode & will not pick up or accelerate...stop the car for 2 minutes, evan when the engine is cold & lights stop...

Guys,A friend of mine has a 1998 Gen.5 1.6 with a cracked exhaust manifold at the head...this is the 2nd.. manifold to crack...from a scrappy...is this a common fault on this model...is there anyone who does a stainless replacement. Cheers Mutly.

Tony, The service connecter is NOT shorted when the mil light comes on & is on constantly..the D4 flashes with no pauses...this is what surprized me when I connected my OBD.& it read NO FAULTS...& the engine goes into limp-mode & will not accelerate or drive properly while these lights are on...

Thanks Linas, I got the ESM, from Tony B. it,s been a big help in understanding the electrics of this car...the problem with the box locking me out was only me not pressing the brake pedal to unlock the parking solinoid..no more problems...& the MIL & D4 flashing only happened once & nothing...

Tin Man, Thats the wire I shorted out...but when I done it, I disconnected the plug from the arm-rest & I didn,t have the IGN. on...just back fron Christmas shoppong in the UK...so I,ll try again next week & let you know what happens. Cheers Eddie.
