How much blow out your oil filler?

I don't quite get what you're asking here, I thought it was fairly normal to get some air when there is no oil cap on? I can go check and see if my car does that though I can't tell you if that is normal or not...

    Windscreen surround issues?

Thanks guys, not leaking (as far as I can tell) at the mo so like Rich said, i'l leave it until summer. It might actually fix the condensation problem aswell, who knows? P.s. That link is out of stock but i'l look out for some if I need a temp fix. Thanks again!

    Windscreen surround issues?

I spotted some possible issues with the surround on the windscreen rubber surround not that long after I bought the car. The corners I noticed but didn't think too much about it at the time (and didn't take a photo before my phone screen broke) but after spotting another gap I thought i'd see if...

Guess the problem and repair cost...

Usually people/companies tremble in fear when they hear "trading standards". I hope you get good closure on this too, all the best.

    What oil/fuel filter?

It's obviously a 99p start, it looks official but as it doesn't fit, it doesnt matter. Thanks again for the info, especially you Andy, you contribute so much to the forum for us 6-genners. :) Just a last quick question though, is 5w-40 more recommended than 0w-40?

    What oil/fuel filter?

Thanks guys, il check out the options and see what I can dig up. I don't have decent jacks to get to the parts so il have to use a garage but since it needs a proper service and an MOT soon, I may aswell get it done by them. I spotted this on eBay...

    What oil/fuel filter?

Sometime in the spring, I intend on giving the car a good proper full service but ideally would like the buy some of the bits myself to be sure it's quality stuff going on the car. But this got me thinking, what oil and/or fuel filters should I buy? I got a spare "Filtron" oil filter laying...

Daytime Running Lights - to fit or not to fit

May I be so bold and say I think LED running lights look a little tacky? It's each to their own OFC but I think Clarkson put it best when he said "They look like a council house at Christmas". :P I'd stick to using sidelights, or doing a quick easy mod installing whiter (maybe blue-ish) bulbs...

    Dull headlight plastic

Anyone tried Turtle Wax Headlight Restorer? I heard they were good and can be had for a tenner on eBay. Toothpaste is very weak, if it cleans anything, it will be very temporary as there is no protective formula. Mighty Car Mods on YouTube busted this and oddly avocado juice worked best for them.

what bulbs are for the headlights?

And highly illegal. These will dazzle alot too so unless you want a criminal record, I wouldn't risk it.

what bulbs are for the headlights?

Just fitted a pair of Philips X-treme H7's to my car. Definately a noticeable improvement over the originals, not amazing but about as good as you will get without going down the illegal route. Well recommended, Osram Nightbraker Plus/Unlimited's are also meant to be good but apparently have a...

    New owner review

Nice review, agree with the looks. It is an improvement over the 7th gen, mostly as the fact the windows on the older one taperd to a point despite the roof going in a straight line. Always bugged me that and I glad they fixed it by the next generation.

    Totally transformed by xenons!

Isn't the issue retro-fitting these is that the lenses need to be swapped too for correct light refraction? I have to agree, there's ALOT of drivers putting daft bulbs in their cars and making me squint far too often. Once saw a Freelander with them in and thinking the person was using high beam...

How many miles left in the tank when the petrol light comes on

I park mine against a kerb and leave it in gear (I park in a bay, 60's 'LeMans' style). Good practice for many reasons. First being if the handbrake fails (it does happen even today!). Second and Third, It can't be rocked out of gear and if for some random reason someone wants an old worthless...

    Condensation

Thanks for the responses, il do the checks and try the cardboard trick, might buy myself a bag of that stuff too. I just hope it doesn't turn to goo like the thing I tried before...

    Condensation

I've been having a real nightmare with condensation build up lately, infact there's so much of it when I wipe it off the windscreen, it literally covers the dashboard in a pool of water. I've tried some of these containers with white shingle stuff inside and all it did was replace the contents...

How many miles left in the tank when the petrol light comes on

I don't actually know for certain but I wouldn't practice it personally. These 6th gens are over 10 years old now and there is a risk of sucking up sediment from the fueltank into the filter. Not ideal. I'd try and avoid getting too close to the red marker if you can, I once did and the engine...

    Dismantling parts what's involved?

Sorry I wasn't clear, mine is just smooth so the new trim peices will have to be bonded on somehow anyway but I know exactly what you meant anyway. Been a big help none-the-less so many thanks indeed. I've still yet to burn that Honda CD-ROM thing since I can't mount it. The software on the CD...
