    MPG

The official combined mpg for the tourer is 29 mpg. Over the last 4032 miles I've averaged 27.67 mpg with a high of 33.94 mpg and a low of 22.38 mpg in my 2.4 tourer type s. Mixture of driving, but predominately around town (hence the 22.38!) I use an app on my phone called FuelLog which makes...

    Trip computer

Hi Tel, The pre facelift cars have a pretty basic digital odometer only I believe, but the facelift cars have a trip computer showing mpg, miles until empty, time elapsed etc. etc.

    Vin Check

I also phoned my local dealer today (Ash Honda in Yeovil) and after speaking to Honda UK they phoned me back to say that the recall is for cars delivered in Lithuania and Poland and not the UK. Apparently it's a problem with the online system. They apologised and said the system will be updated...

    Vin Check

This must be a relatively new recall, I last checked about 6 months ago and there was nothing listed then.

    Idle control on the 2.4

No major issue, just a few idle related quirks. E.g. Say I'm driving slowly (around 5mph in first) with very light pressure on the throttle to keep the speed constant, when I turn the steering wheel through 90 degrees or more the engine tries to surge for a fraction of a second. If I do the same...

    Idle control on the 2.4

Hi guys, got a quick question regarding the 2.4:   Is the idle speed controlled just by the butterfly valve in the throttle body, or is there another idle control valve (solenoid) somewhere?

    electric boot problem

I had a similar problem, but for me the boot would open and stay open for a few seconds but then start to drop under its own weight and close again. Seemed to be worse if I parked on an upward slope. I got sick of the bruises on my head so got the gas struts replaced and it works perfectly...

    Tailgate rattle

How did you adjust them? Wind them out or in until the lights on the boot line up perfect with the lights on the wings? Or something else? Thanks in advance!

7th Gen - Rubbish for kids car seats

I was told that the shorter the bit the belt plugs into the better when it comes to child seats because it avoids something called buckle crunch? We also have a maxi cosi seat and although its a little fiddly I honestly don't find it to bad. Having to bend your kid over double to fit through...

    Tailgate rattle

So I've fiddled around with those bushes and it seems to have improved it a lot. But, I have a question for other accord tourer owners: are the panel gaps on each side of the boot the same? It appears my boot its fitted slightly wonky, in that the gap on the left hand side of the car its smaller...

    Tailgate rattle

Hi cliff, what was the fix for this? My 06 type s tourer has started rattling! Cheers.

Possible problem with handbrake on 06 type s tourer

That sounds just like mine, doesn't move much but is enough to make you think something isn't quite right...

Possible problem with handbrake on 06 type s tourer

12000 miles tops. Car has just ticked over to 40k this week. I ***umed genuine parts used; brakes were done at local Honda garage under the Honda Happiness scheme. I always use the Honda garage. Is it possible they wouldn't have used genuine Honda parts? I'll ask the garage to look into it when...

Possible problem with handbrake on 06 type s tourer

Yes, regardless of how hard the handbrake is pulled on the car can still be rocked using 1st and reverse. It feels like the shoes are engaged with the drum lining, but the drum itself is moving on it's mounting bolts, although I'm not sure this is even possible, it's just what it feels like.

Possible problem with handbrake on 06 type s tourer

It's possible they've done something detrimental I guess, but it was doing it before. I think I'll get the wheels off at the weekend and have a look around. Failing that it's going into Honda soon so I'll get them to have a look at it then. It's been like it for at least 2 years, another few...

Possible problem with handbrake on 06 type s tourer

3 clicks will hold the car on a slight slope, but I tend to pull up 2 more (to 5 total) to make sure it's nice and tight.

Possible problem with handbrake on 06 type s tourer

Hi guys, I've had my tourer for just over 2 years now, and all that time when the handbrake is on I can rock the car slightly forwards and backwards, maybe 10 or 15cm's along the road. When it stops it does so quite abruptly, as if the handbrake isn't on properly but then is yanked on. I had...
