    Parking Sensor Issue

Did the dealer you bought it from advertise the car as having parking sensors? If so then you are entitled to working parking sensors on your car. Have a look at a copy of the advert for the car and go from there.

When to change a 10 year old car.

I am in the same boat. My car is 10 years old and my wife wants to replace it. I want to keep it until it dies..... It has done 160k and is still going strong. She just wants something new as it is perceived (by her) to be safer even though she doesnt even drive the Accord. I wonder if this...

    16" wheels for spare/winter tyres

It turns out I did need new wheel nuts as the standard Honda ones have a round seat whereas the wheels expected a 60 degree taper. Still £15 on ebay for some new wheel nuts wasnt bad. Simon

    16" wheels for spare/winter tyres

Yes it was a good price, I was willing to go quite a bit higher on them to be honest. I bought some spigot rings and have now fitted the wheels, they fit fine. I will have to have a look at the wheel nuts though, although I think they seem to fit fine. I will have to measure them up for the...

    16" wheels for spare/winter tyres

I just bought these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181300542678?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I think it should be just a case of buying spigot rings to convert 67.1 to 64.1 and they should then fit right on. Can I just use my existing wheel nuts? Also do you know if it is...

Issue with boot catch jamming in cold weather

I have had my 2004 Tourer Sport for a while now but every winter I get the same issue and I really want to try and fix it properly as it is getting annoying now I have a baby around....... Sometimes when the air temperature is cold (down near freezing) and I shut the boot it doesnt 'catch' and...

    16" wheels for spare/winter tyres

I am in the same boat of looking for wheels for winter tyres. These links may be useful when considering wheels sold as fitting another car... http://adaptitusa.com/referencebook.htm http://www.wheel-fitment.com/PCD/5x114.3/67.1/ It looks like Mazda 6 rims would fit a Honda if you also bought...

My boot wont open manually or automatically

I never did get round to cleaning the microswitch. The issue happened again today but this time it jammed open so that whenever I shut the boot it didnt 'catch' shut. I got the WD40 out but that didnt help, then I remembered this thread and I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes and now it...

Any good independent garages in the Croydon/Surrey area?

I always look at reviews on http://www.goodgaragescheme.co.uk when I move to a new area and need a garage. I found a good one in Bromley who replaced my injector, now I am in Maidstone I have found another one using the website.

    Poor MPG

I have measured my MPG manually quite often since I got the car in 2008, the worst ever was 40MPG when the rear brakes were seized on, the best was 56mpg when I used Shell Ultimate on a motorway run. I tend to do long runs on the motorway at legal speeds though... You dont have a roofbox...

    Opening the boot...

Thank of the boot handle just like any other door handle, they all only work when the car is unlocked with the blipper. Correct (if by 'electric opening thing' you mean the boot opening button on your keyfob), because the car is locked. Yes Probably best you have a play.

Burning Smell from under the car...

Could be a binding brake caliper. My discs were VERY hot the other day because my brakes were stuck on.

    Tourer towbar electrics

I fitted my tow bar, it is the cheapest one you can buy from Towsure. As for the wiring, I dont tow a caravan so dont have a twin plug system but cant you just power the extra socket from the wire that feeds the boot cigarette lighter socket?

My boot wont open manually or automatically

Its about time I posted back about this. I disconnected the battery for 10 minutes and when I reconnected it it all worked fine, thanks davemazo. When it gets a bit warmer I will try cleaning the microswitch as well. Thanks for the tips.

My boot wont open manually or automatically

Thanks for the tip, I hadnt realised there was a manual release, I will see if that works (that will entirely rule out if ice is the problem). Would I access this microswitch through the same panel or is it visible by the boot catch?

My boot wont open manually or automatically

I cant open my tourer boot, I think it is more than just being iced up. I went to use my car on Saturday for the first time since the snow, I opened the boot and went to get something but the gas struts couldn’t support the boot lid and it fell shut. After that I havent been able to open it...

    another successful diesel oil service

I would be a bit wary about sucking out the oil from the dipstick tube, someone on here did this and the end of the hose broke off in the sump and he had to take the sump apart to get it out.

DIY: Full engine service on the Pre Facelift i-CTDI Accord

If you look on page 1 of this very thread (post #16) you will see that I confirmed that on my car it is a square 3/8 inch tool that you need. Simon

    Accord tourer roof rails

This post talks about you wanting roof rails which I ***ume to be the ones that run from front to back along the sides of the roof, yet your other 'Hello' post mentions roof bars which are what i believe to be the bars that go across the car from side to side. Which one are you after? My car...
