Thanks for the reply pal :) yeh the local mechanic is a good un and already knew about the pre loading. He has a way of doing this with a press and some other tools. I'm gonna have the manifold inspected properly and then decide on a repair or a new part.

Not a scooby doo yet well the drive shaft has popped out, upper control arms both sides were replaced by me a few months ago so they are fine. The ball joint has split! Lower control arm bushes look shot. Well it'll have to sit in the driveway until the weekend!

Right looks like the ball joint has some how snapped. Shes not been lowered tracking is spot on no noises before hand although she has done 169k and never had the ball joints changed!

Permanent fix is to remove doorcards and use grease I used copper grease and laid it on nice and thick on all moving parts of the window regulator and also some in the window rubber guide rails too. Windows now seem smoother and quicker moving up and down :)
