Hi all - can anyone tell me how much movement there should be in a correctly working clutch slave on a 2007 diesel tourer?

I replaced the master cylinder a year or more ago, which dramatically improved some clutch issues I was having.

Now, I fear that the slave is giving up - it does loose a little fluid over time but not dramatically.

First and reverse gear are proving a little difficult at the moment but will always go in with a couple of pumps of the pedal.

I am really hoping that it isn't the clutch itself/pressure plate.

Have had a helper push the clutch pedal down while I look at the slave cylinder rod movement - so was interested to know if anyone knew what the expected level of "throw" in a correctly operating system is?

Many thanks, Tom

Scrap that - it is the master cylinder that has failed again... wet with fluid underneath. Not a fun job to change
