Heyaa was just wondering if any of you have come across an aftermarket induction kit for the 2.2 cdti.. Not a universal jobby but an actual kit :)

Won't make a difference.

Get Premier Tuning to map the wotsits out of it.

Yup induction and exhaust mods don't help with these engines. Tune it if you want improved performance.

Needs to be a high quality fmic setup though, not the cheap Chinese tat a lot of people use

I'm not saying that mine is top quality as it's been bought on ebay, but pipes were custom made and I was trying to avoid silicone connections as much as possible and I managed to have about 40* less compared to standard ic

The best mod I saw on one of these was the standard ic being reworked by a radiator specialist for better airflow.. You retain the factory dual pass setup with improved internals. It made about 6bhp on the dyno

Compared to the bang-for-bucks you get with a remap, everything else is a case of spending a decent chunk of money for a minimal gain.

Fortunately the stock Honda intercooler's built tough enough for a big map, a D5 Volvo can't even hold its own boost when its stock.

Despite the couple of niggles we have with these cars, we're lucky they don't need supporting mods to make good torque figures.

I see many posts regarding air filters. Everyone says they won't do any better.

But what if...what if the person wants a filter purely for sound and they couldn't give two hoots if they LOOSE 5bhp or so?

I for one prefer to have a nice sounding car amd a small reduction in performance wouldn't bother me.....and yes I have had an Elite Tuning stage 2 remap ;)

Can anyone suggest such a nice sounding kit to make the turbo more noticable?

Sorry to hijack thread :(

I'm not sure about the Diesel, but on the Petrol you can just remove/bypass the intake resonator. The resonator works like a ****ler on the exhaust. If you simply remove it, the engine rumbles more on idle and roars in the high revs. Just removing your intake resonator shouldn't lose you any power either, if anything, it frees up air flow into the engine. This is the resonator on the Diesel: http://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_car_parts_selection_pfk.php?block_01=17SEA01&block_02=B__0106&block_03=2946&block_05=hcr

Thanks for that info!

I will need to see if any sensors are attached to the large resonator, if not then I can make pipe up and universal filter. If it doesn't affect the noise then I will put it back to standard ;)

let us know how it goes as I am looking forward to see what it sounds like :D

I'm not familiar with the Turbo Diesel setup, but I'd imagine any/all sensors will be post filter (which itself is post resonator), otherwise the sensors would run the risk of getting damaged with dirt and grit etc (the stuff the filter removes).

Again, on the petrol, I just whipped out the whole resonator and air filter box, hose clamped a fat old pipe to the stock intake pipe and run it down to where the resonator used to live before I removed it. Put a K&N on and I had myself a Cold Air Intake for under £100.
