PTG and Central Locking not working on remote

I had a PTG error for the first time today. In fact its my first Accord error code in six years and two Accords. The tailgate will open off the remote but not close. Later on tonight the car has stopped responding to the remote. WOrks off the key if you turn it in the lock.

Going to maybe look at the tailgate lock and reset by disconnecting the battery. But surprised the locks have stopped working from the remote. Did bump slightly in the back into a ballard! Wonder whether I have dislodged something behind the bumper. In fact isn't the manual mechanism behind the rear bumper?

You will need to read error code using honda hds or top end diagnostic machine sounds like tailgate closure may have moved

Manual release is on inside if tailgate closure it's a metal lever push to right to open boot

Thanks for the suggestions Saj. I agree that the mechanism might have moved with the little bump.

I presume that we are talking Tourer tailgate (and not saloon boot, aka trunk) ?

If yes, then does the tailgate work manually from the outside ?

If yes, then you need a new battery in the remote

btw nothing behind the bumper, all the gubbins for the Tourer tailgate is in the roof.

Yes thanks I checked the remote, the tourer central locking won't work if something is half open. I got it closed manual and the remote is now working. The code has also gone. I think it is the bottom latch that has moved slightly.

If it is now closed then the closer mechanism is "happy" with the latches.

A known issue is frayed wires on the loom between the "closer unit" (the powered-handle mechanism) and the gubbins in the roof.

Quite a few threads on all the Tourer tailgate issues, searching for "tailgate" or "closer" might bring them up.

Cheers Brian, that made for interesting reading.

In my case hiting a ballard seems to have deformed the rear bumper and moved the plastic surrounding the latch that sits on top of the bumper. Bit of adjustment and its back working.
