Hi, I have few things want to ask, hope you guys don't mine me to fire them up in one post......

1. My car has headlight washers, so it would be legal to have xenon light, what you guys would buy?

2. The sat nav DVD is v3.6 2012 version, but it's in purple colour and only work once for about 15 mins, then pop up a reading error message, I guess it is a copy disc. Found a website called www.satnav-update.com
They sell the v3.7 for £29.99, will you go for it?

3. Can LED light be use for the side lights and indicators?

Andy

Do you have a 7th Gen, what year? I thought these only took V2 DVDs and V3 was for the 8th Gen.

I have a copy of the disc and get reading errors all the time, I'm on the look out for a genuine one. I'm not sure if that website in genuine when Honda charge £200 for it, seems cheap?

My car is 06, and the disc is v3.6 2012 in purple colour of the readable side.
Another thing is, the HFT control has to be work with the navigation, and I don't even know how to pair my phone to the system by bluetooth, my phone's scanning couldn't found my car :(

The HFT is a bit of a pain to be honest.
You need to make sure your phones bluetooth is on before you turn on the ignition.
Press the Phone Speak button and say Phone Setup
Press again and say Add Phone (I think, it will tell you after the previous step)
You then need to say a code of your choice, ie 1234
Then search on your phone and enter the same code on your phone when it finds the Honda HFT

No, I pressed many times of the HFT button, but it doesn't do anything at all, no beep tone or any reaction.
I'm looking into the user manual to see where the fuse of the HFT locates, but found nothing. Might need to visit the Honda dealer I'm afraid

Yeah you should definitely get a beep after pressing the button. Compared to a parrot system I'm not that impressed with it to be honest so don't stress too much

Andy try nav tec for a genuine disk they are slightly cheaper than most dealers.
You can find there web site on line

Andy, I just bought the sat nav disc from that site for 29.99 and it works perfectly, was delivered in 2 days.

I've just done the same for the wife's FRV will let you know how well it works. £32 with delivery

Are these discs genuine?
I just ordered it 30 mins ago so I couldn't tell you if it is genuine, and I would doubt that if it is with this low price.
There was an old post which had a discussion about this kind of disc, someone said that a copy one with high quality DVD disc, written by a proper software and speed would work perfectly

Ask Devlin1973 as he is using it :)

they are backups, it says on their website if you read the About Us section..

No it means they're backups lol

I didn't know that, I thought the system was fussy with all copied DVDs. In that case I will get one when I've got the other issues sorted.

Mine's copied and very, very slow to load sometimes  . Occasionally freaks out too. I think however, this is more likely to be dirty lens than the disc itself. Should probably clean it one of these days.

BTW, what is the proper way to clean the lens?

No it will be the disc my wife's car has same issue and we cleaned lens manually and didn't really
Help. It doesn't have the issue with original disc but that's an old version and you can't revert the firmware once updated.

I'm hoping this disc is better and it has return warranty anyway

Mine had an updated copied disk and an older original one when I bought it. The copied disk worked perfectly for about 4 months until it started having reading errors. I think the copies can't handle the heat and being used constantly every day.

You can downgrade the firmware too. Insert the disk while holding the left 3 buttons to see the hidden menu. Then select download from the menu and it will install the firmware from your original disk.

Mine works perfectly again after going back to the original disk.

Mine also works very well in the FRV. Sorry forgot to update you guys as promised.

Definitely worth £32

I ended up buying a brand new genuine disc from Holdcroft honda as this one also stopped after a while.

It's about £145

oh no  I hoped you werent going to say something like that.... Would be nice to see my sat nav working and will help when it comes to selling the car too (not that I even checked it worked before I bought it  )

I guess thats a standard Honda main dealer price?

Is this navtec site still going? I can't seem to find it.

R the discs still working who got them from there?
