Steering wheel controls, suppose to be lit?

as per ***le really, drove the car in the dark last night and realised the steering wheel controls aren't lit up?! Every other car I've had has these lit up, have I a fault, or did they just forget? lol
 
I found it annoying as I couldn't see what was what :lol:

I may have a look into putting some SMD's behind there if they can be seen
 
You have a 7th gen? In that case they should lit up ;)
 
I think the facelift are lit, but pre are not.
 
Hmm, wonder if the controls can be retrofitted - annoying not being able to see the CC etc while in the dark!
 
much more fun in taking a stab, you could be accelerating instead of decelerating, but fear not a dab of brake/clutch will cancel that, re the radio, who wants Wogan anyway LOL
 
They light up on 55 reg onwards cars. Some 05 have them some don't..

Thanks.. Do you know if its a different loom/connector? or can the later controls be fitted and light up using the original loom?
 
Are these 05's facelifts? Some 05 pre-facelifts have facelift bits on them. There's definitely an odd transition between pre and post facelift.

some of the 05's were standing in a field for a while??

Hi I have a 55 plate accord tourer ex petrol pre facelift and mine are lit. :)

No mate they had it from 2005 onwards but some cars were registered late so not all 05 reg cars will have them.

Facelift and prefacelift have different controls anyway from memory as they have different steering wheels.

Not sure if you can retro fit the 05 controls to 04 cars. Although they look identical I'm not sure if the loom is the same. I wanted to do this to my 54 reg when I ran an accord but never got round to it.

I'll see if I can get hold of some slightly later controls and see what's what...
 
The steering wheel controls light up on my 54 Sport Tourer (registered in January 2005, so made in 2004). I don't think I had noticed this until last night and I was thinking about this thread!
 
Mine was a 54 reg, registered in Dec 2004 and didn't have them lol
 
Mine light up but they are only visible in the dark, same as the window switches. 7th gen facelift EX.
