Yet another tailgate thread, I'm afraid.
The tailgate on my '07 Accord Tourer is getting steadily worse. Usually it works fine, but every so often it refuses to open either manually or electrically. When this happens it gives a beep of protest and a warning in the dash display. Disconnecting the battery for 20 seconds resets it and it works again for a while. Now the interval between battery resets is getting shorter and shorter, so it only manages to open a couple of times before stopping working again.
I seem to recall reading a DIY how-to a while back which described taking out and adjusting the position sensor, but I've searched on every combination of key words I can think of and can't seem to find it. Can somebody point me towards this guide or, if I'm barking up the wrong tree in suspecting the sensor, suggest an alternative possible cause for the tailgate problem?
