They are easier to remove because there is no top mount bearings. 3 bolts at the top and 1 on the bottom. Straight out with no fuss. Then just normal spring clamps to remove and replace.

In fairness mine didn't look bad at all and there was no play when the car was jacked up either. But when the car is under load and its own weight the smallest amount of free play is amplified. I changed them as a precautionary measure and plus they were £10 per joint.
