    Rear doors the same?

Hi All, Can anyone tell me if the rear doors of the hatchback version of the MK 6 are the same as those on cars that have a boot lid? I'm looking to buy a replacement nearside rear door for my hatchback Sport and wondering if a door from a car with a boot will fit. Thanks in advance for any...

    Back door won’t open

Could it be as simple as the child lock being in place? I think on each back door they are implemented by way of a (white?) tab on the latching mechanism on the closing edge of the door. Tim M

    Roof bars needed

Dear All, I've just acquired a 2002 Accord type S and I'm new to this forum. I need some roof bars for a single trip to France. Does anyone have some for sale, or could anyone recommend non-Honda bars that fit in the roof channels, or could someone hire me a pair for two weeks? Thanks if you can...

Tilt Sensor to prevent catalytic converter theft, any recommendations?

In our London neighbourhood we are having a spate of catalytic converter thefts. Mostly from new hybrid cars it seems, but I thought to install something preventative on my 2005 Ctdi. A few questions: Does the car have a tilt sensor? (!) If not, can anyone recommend one that I can buy and fit...

    Replacing exterior windscreen rubber seal/trim

Hi, I have a Mk7 Accord but my sister has a 2002 Accord Sport. The exterior windscreen rubber on her car seems to have shrunk in the upper left and right corners and therefore peeled away from the groove that it sits in. I'm thinking the existing rubber is too distorted to use again, but I...

    2002 windscreen rubber replacement

No, I'm referring to the rubber trim that surrounds the windscreen on the outside of the vehicle. This is a link to the part: https://www.hondapartsnow.com/genuine/honda~molding~73150-s84-a02.html It might be a very simple job ... remove the old one, clean out the recess, push in the new...

    major help needed

In case it helps ... When I was struggling to free some injectors in a Civic engine the same clamp bolt snapped. I took the head to a trusted engineering shop and the fellow there told me that what he often does in this situation is to drill out the entire hole and re thread for an 8mm bolt...

Driver's seat, how should it feel?

Thanks folks. I agree with Matt that the arm rest in relation to the steering wheel is fabulous. When I discovered that the arm rest slid forward to create that perfect resting place for my left arm I praised Honda to high heaven! I find the lumbar support perfect as well so no problems with...

Driver's seat, how should it feel?

My 2005 Accord ctdi has done nearly 160K. I've only driven 1000 miles of that. I'm wondering how the driver's seats wear, in general. Mine looks to be in great shape, (it's the suede design, not full leather) but it feels like the seat is not fully supportive at the base of my spine. However I...

    Power steering hose, upper.

Maybe I'll go and visit the guy who fixed mine and see if he can do an exchange service. Would be good to know, for all of us. Tim M

    Power steering hose, upper.

Dear All, I had a leak on my upper power steering hose, just where it passes through the clamp on the back of the rocker cover. I suspect that when I took the engine out last year I might not have treated that hose gently enough, but it might be a common problem? I'm not sure. A garage in...

    major help needed

I did the oil and camshaft chains on my accord. A long story that I posted on this forum. Although I've not done the job with the engine in situ, and maybe it's possible if you have a ramp, I ended up realising it was much easier to take the engine out. I have various tools and parts that might...

    Drinks holder cover catch

Thanks for both your responses. Definitely the eBay route looks better than a new unit from Honda, if the unit is even available. It's just a question of matching the interior trim spec. Thanks for the parts diagram. That seems to show the whole back half of the centre consol being fixed by a...

    Timing chain?

Thanks Graham, Matt, Motorhate (??), for your replies. I'm loving my car, in London the diesel engine is so much nicer to drive than my sister's petrol Accord, as I have the torque which makes for a smoother ride and fewer gear changes. My car feels like a quality vehicle, the way the doors...
