Worst sounding Accord ever say Holdcroft!

I think your attitude may have been the reason for the refusal of future works Darren. it seems you are a very capable and knowledgeable chap and knew what was wrong in the first place. this being the case surely there is no real need to visit a Honda dealership in the future? your trusty...

Worst sounding Accord ever say Holdcroft!

hello. you may be glad to hear that my eyesight is very much top knotch, however it is sad to hear Mr Bland was not happy with the diagnosis given. when diagnosing nosies such as described in this post it is very difficult to say the leist when it sounds like the timing chain is about to snap...

    Mega problems....pls help!

i havnt replaced one as yet but you may well be able to change it your self but you wont be able to keep the same mileage. ime sure there is a process to follow using honda's diagnostic computer that you may have to pay a dealer to carry out afterwards. by the sounds of things your dealer has...

04 Tourer CDTI Flashing green key & other probs

generaly with multiple faults there is a common problem between all of them. i would not jump to conclusions regarding the ecu. you menchon the alarm does not sound? i suspect the alarm siren has been spiked due to the car being jump started incorrectly. its common for people to unplug the siren...

    squeaking tensioner or belt

there is a spray called belt-slip which is avaliable at most car parts factors. however a new belt is somthing in the region of £20 - £40 and may well be worth replacing as your belt is perhapse 7 years old. not a difficult job either so long as you have a long enough 14mm spanner and note how...

    Oil leak

i take it you suspect the problem is the rear crank oil seal? so long as the leak is not the gear box mainshaft seal the worst part of removing the seal is getting to it. once the box is out just remove the clutch and flywheel and you can see the seal. remove with a pick or screwdriver but on...

    Washer Woes #1

thake the pipe off each washer jet in turn and spray. watch the water coming out of the pipe itself, if there is a big differance between the two i would suspect a blockage in that pipe. if the preasure is the same (good preasure) the problem is with the jets them selves. if it is weak then...

    Crankshaft pulley failure

if you are refering to the crank pully itself ive seen it once on a crv but not on an accord as yet. may well become a more common problem as the ictdi engine gets older, its obvious what the problem is though when it happens.

    Key fobs disintegrating

ive tryed mate. the reason it is loose is because the blade has snapped free from the case. try just glueing the blade into the case first and then unless the case is ******d aswell you should be able to clip them together

    Key fobs disintegrating

    Engine woes....

i would suggest that injector has been removed for some reason previously. whoever re-fitted it has no doubt crossed the threads on the clamp bolt and not tightened it fully. you may need to fit a bigger bolt and this involves having a machinist drill out the hardened metal clamp and then drill...

Difficult starting when parked facing uphill

could be water in the fuel filter. there is a drain plug under the filter itself but if you are unsure of when it was last replaced ide go ahead and replace it. never worked on an accord with an air leak in the fuel system so that is doubtfull but caunt be ruled out. unfortunately with the...

    Failed for smoke test

hopefully its the injector quantity ammount coding that is causing the extra smoke but you are best holding out till honda take a look at it. could very well be caused by fitting the timing chain.

    alarm

why did the alarm go off? if your battery is charged you should be able to lock the car with the central locking button, wait for the alarm led to change and open the car again. should re-set unless a door is open, battery is flat or the siren is bust.

    Knocking Tappet

when you buy a car you are allways in the lap of the gods as to whether the past owners have looked after them propperly. take my mondeo st24. its a 2.5l v6 timing chain driven engine. i have changed the oil religiously, working out at a change every 3 thousand miles and its only done 80,000...
