What tyres is everyone using nowadays?

Having been running Michelin PS3s for a good while and been very pleased I then went on to the PS4s. Can't really give a good review as they were only on the car for less than three weeks before it was written off... Gutted :-(

    First impressions and possible issues

My type s is very close to 143k on the original clutch and yes I too have the same irritating squeaky clutch pedal. I'm not going to fork out several hundred quid just to get the master clutch cylinder changed....

Lifespan of original alloy wheel rims

Now bearing in mind the current state of the country's pot holed roads which aren't exactly doing our cars any good, but is there an age / mileage whereby we should consider replacement of wheel rims? Thoughts anyone?

Hello all - I now own a 7th Gen Accord Type S Tourer! Some Q's

Great choice of car, hope you have many miles of fun motoring in your type S. Might be worth going through the service history to find out what needs doing and get the work done. A change of all the major fluids wouldn't be a miss. My accord type S has just turned 137k and is still running...

oil consumption - excessive or not?

My beloved 2.4 Type S tourer seems to be drinking a little more oil than I would ideally like. Over the last few times it has been serviced, there is no evidence of leakage underneath the car (clean as a whistle so to speak) or dropping oil on the road etc. I am having to keep topping the oil...

Electric window switch - is it faulty?

So mine not the only one that does this then? Least I know how to fix it :-) :D

Valve clearance adjustment - is it worth it?

You also get the head gasket changed.... Less likelihood of that failing if you follow manufacturers recommendations. I've just got a Honda to replace mine because it is leaking slightly when this was done less than 20k ago...Honda Happiness

    Genuine Honda driveshaft

I had a driveshaft go, but it turned out to be the big bearing on the end of it. Bought genuine Honda part, got local garage to fit, and sold redundant part on ebay.... The actual shaft was fine just the bearing. Been fine since :-)

Honda Accord 2.4 Type s vs 2.4 Executive

I find my type S tourer a great place to be in. The buttons and other controls are easy to use and it doesn't look over complicated. I love the half leather seats, the all red instrument panel something that was ruined after the 2005 facelift when it went red and white. Okay so I don't have...

    Tyre Time...

Just bought 4 new Michelin Ps3s at £105 per tyre fitted. Initial impressions much better than the Bridgestone S001's they've replaced. Both brands very good in the dry and wet. The 225 /45/17 91Y seem good on my type S tourer :-)

    Boot/Tailgate issues

I've had my tourer since it was 3yrs old. It had to have a brand new tailgate motor 3 mths after I bought it. Honda provided the part and I just had a small labour bill. Other than that, the only issues I've had is the tailgate motor needing to be realigned. This is has only happened twice...

    Fuel Consumption 2.4 petrol tourer

My 2.4 type S manual tourer is constantly averaging at least 27mpg combined.... Regularly using the climate control and I have a pair of Thule cycle carriers fitted to the roof of the car. Must admit a well serviced engine and decent tyres at the correct psi make a big difference. Just fitted 4...

    passenger airbag recall

My pride and joy goes for it's mot tomorrow and I had a call out of the blue from Blade Honda to advise me that my car is subject to a passenger airbag recall. My car is coming up to its 11th birthday, just curious if anyone else has been notified of a similar issue?

    Rear brake caliper

I've had my calipers seize......if you have the AA's breakdown insurance, the calipers are a covered item (discs and pads are not). Helps with the bills and you can even have the work done at the garage of your choice :) Might be work replacing the pair (speaking from experience)
